The United States Embassy in Angola partners with STEMi Makers of Africa for Project Kuongoza Accelerator program.
The Public Diplomacy section of the United States Embassy; Luanda, Angola has partnered with the STEMi Makers of Africa towards empowering 50 creative businesses across the HuÃla province of Angola with digital skills, enhancing their knowledge of digital technologies through a structural two-weeks training, and creating opportunities for them to utilize ICT tools and digital skills for their business growth and success. This was in a quest to empower small business leaders with digital tools that can foster market expansion, increased employability of their communities to improve their productivity and nurture revenue growth in Angola.
On the 12th of November 2025, STEMi Makers of Africa opened its applications to women creative entrepreneurs looking for business capacity-building, funding, mentorship, and resources that can launch, grow, and scale their businesses with focus areas of challenge in technology, Artificial Intelligence, storytelling, finance management and so on.

Recognizing the unique challenges faced by this HuÃla demographic, the project employs a user-centric approach, integrating practical, real-world applications to ensure that women entrepreneurs not only learn but also apply critical digital skills. By focusing on areas such as digital marketing, website development, social media management, and data analysis, the Project Kuongoza accelerator aims to fill the skill gaps that often hinder women from successfully engaging in the digital economy.
Through a series of carefully structured activities, including peer groups, tailored curriculum development, hands-on training, and the creation of a working group platform, the project seeks to foster a supportive learning environment that will enable women in their middle years to share experiences, gain insights, and engage in peer-to-peer learning, ultimately boosting their confidence, economic independence, and visibility in the digital sector

The Accelerator is committed to addressing broader societal goals, such as enhancing gender equality and inclusion in the digital space and promoting cross-cultural learning and exchange and contributes to a more inclusive and diverse digital economy.Â
The implementation phase of the project will be on conducting an in-depth skill assessment and will transition to the facilitation of a tailored curriculum. This includes comprehensive modules on essential digital skills such as digital marketing, website development, social media management, data analytics, building a sustainable MVP and business model, access to funding and grant writing.

Beneficiaries of this program will further be paired with business consultants and mentors who will provide support by assessing and understanding the unique business challenges they face in starting and running their businesses in today’s digital landscape.
We invite all stakeholders, women in midlife aspiring to enhance their digital skills, and anyone interested in supporting women’s entrepreneurship to stay engaged with our project. Your participation and feedback are crucial as we work together to empower women across Angola with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in the digital age.
