Our Focus Areas
Our solution therefore to the leaky unemployment pipeline, requires a more integrated approach to education, involving schools, communities and community based organizations. This will go a long way in alleviating the challenges of having a labour market that meets the demands of the economy.
STEM Integration
7 in 11 Educators (nearly 65 percent in Africa) do not have access to STEM tools, project-based learning resources, and improved knowledge on STEM curriculum needed to be integrated in the 21st-century classrooms.
Diversity & Inclusion in STEM
Our social impact record has fostered partnerships with the African Union, State governments, tech organizations like Oracle Academy, Google, IBM, and Microsoft who believe in helping Africans to become technology innovators and leaders.
Professional Development
We use an “Africa By Us, For Us” philosophy in cultivating a refined STEM Workforce by equipping Educators across 21 African countries with locally designed project-based learning contents, resource tools, and refining their instructional pedagogy.
Our mandate
We have a mandate to support and promote investment in skills-based training to enable the informal segment workforce to acquire the skill-set needed to meet the changing demands of the labour market. This is through STEM Integration and Development training for Educators, Empowering women with STEM tools, Our Innovation hubs, and Incubator programs for Entrepreneurs.
Our Mission
Our mission is to boost employment, innovation, inclusion and aim to empower a talent base of 2,000,000 young Africans with emerging technologies, and real-world problem-solving skills to excel in STEM pathways, shape the Future of Work and contribute to the development of our changing workforce by 2030.
Having the youngest youth population in the world of 200 million aged between 15 and 24, increasing youth unemployment poses a significant threat to sustained economic growth, the growing political and socio-economic stability of the continent. International Labour Organization (ILO) released the official unemployment rates for African countries, which currently sit at 45.6% as per the third quarter of 2018.
